What is
kid connexion?
Kid Connexion is a place on Sunday mornings where we offer a safe environment for fun, age-appropriate learning about God! Our goal is to grow children into faithful followers of Jesus Christ who know God’s Word, have a personal relationship with Jesus, and are engaged in His mission in the world.
NEW HERE?
You can expect a safe, clean, loving environment for your kids at Connexion Church! Our children's programs are designed for children from infants through 5th grade. Both our nurseries and school-age classes are located downstairs. Our volunteers are screened with background checks for your safety.
Here's what you can expect on a Sunday Morning!
-Use a check in station to print a name sticker and pick-up code for your child. Allergy and medical notes can be added to their name tag.
-Bring your children into the main sancuary to join the whole church for worship.
-After worship and the kids video, all kids up through 5th grade are dismissed for Kid Connexion. You are welcome to walk your child downstairs.
-Pre-Class will have a snack and bathroom break. Please let us know if you have any special instructions.
-Pick-up after service is downstairs. Please turn in your pick-up code that will match your child's sticker.
Any questions? Ask a greeter and we are happy to help you out! If you'd like to visit the downstairs classrooms before church starts, we can do that as well.
Babies and toddlers
Kid Connexion Pre-K Class serves infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in a fun, play-based environment. We have a short lesson, songs, and a chance to play with peers. We also have a simple snack such as graham crackers available. We use the Frolic Preschool Curriculum that covers major Bible stories from the Old and New Testament over two years. There is a Frolic Preschool Bible that you can use to read the same stories at home.
SUNDAY MORNINGS
@ KID CONNEXION
Our Kid Connexion classrooms are for Kindergarten-5th grade students to learn more about Jesus and grow into faithful followers of Jesus.
All children start our morning service with worship upstairs in the sanctuary with the whole church. We encourage children to sit with their family. After worship, we watch a Bible Story video that follows our Biggest Story Curriculum, pray a blessing over the kids, and then dismiss downstairs for Kid Connexion.
The kids have a lesson taught in large group before breaking into small groups for discussion and prayer. Small groups provide an opportunity to dig deeper, develop friendships, and engage with familiar adult volunteers. Parents pick kids up from the small group classroom after service.
ABOUT THE CURRICULUM: The Biggest Story Curriculum covers major Bible stories from the Old and New Testament over about two years. This curriculum draws kids into Scripture and helps them grasp its overarching message of redemption. Accompanying kids’ Bible you can use at home: The Biggest Story Bible. MISSION & VALUES
The Mission of Kid Connexion is to assist in growing children into faithful followers of Jesus Christ.
We commit to:
Providing a welcoming and safe place for children and families, recognizing their significance in the church body.
Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. -Psalm 127:3 (NIV)
Providing space for children to know God and engage in worship, prayer, and teaching of scripture.
Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. -Colossians 3:16 (NIV)
Helping children grow in their personal relationship with Jesus and the fruits of the Spirit in their lives.
And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. -Ephesians 1:13-14 (NIV)
Nurturing life-giving friendship with other children and discipleship relationships with adults
Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well. -1 Thessalonians 2:8 (NIV)
Helping children grow to be on mission with God in everyday life
Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. -Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV)
Equipping families so they can continue to disciple their children at home
Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. . -Deuteronomy 6:5-7 (NIV)
